Head hunter

The head hunter is an expert in recruiting high level executives.  He works either alone or in the office and deals primarily with clients to find the profiles of the rare executives.

To achieve its purpose, the head hunter has two main techniques: he is working on ad and selects the best profiles or he works with a direct approach.  The second technique is used more often for the most advanced heads hunters. They build a file for each profile including resume and other precious information. These people are mostly serving in a company.  These persons did let know or not that they were ready to leave their company for a position more commensurate with their skills. When the person has never made any particular approach to the firms, while the art of the head hunter is to be persuasive if the person agrees to negotiate and accept the idea of being "unfaithful "to his current boss.

They are mainly specialists in a sector or an activity (a lawyer, an expert in export, financial and administrative director, a computer developer, researcher etc.The profiles are rare in most cases and already engaged in their country of origin or internationally. The added value of a head hunter is to be familiar with all the strategic functions in a company and to be able to    select the ideal framework to the specifications of the client.

Generally, the head hunter is from a great business school or has a degree in human resources or psychology. The youngest head hunters start with a post of junior research before moving towards a position of senior research. The best head hunters appointed consultants must demonstrate several years of successful experience in the trade. This experience allows them to have a solid network of contacts within the major companies abroad. For people in the direct approach it requires a real skill and real talent for negotiation.
